Dishwashers clean spoon rests. Not misinformed housewives who don’t know when it is appropriate to use a sponge.
Besides that, spoon rests also contain any pooling of liquid that happens to run off the rested spoon, rather than having it run around your oh-so-delicate counter.
Give spoon rests a chance. They are significantly more useful than the pot holders you undoubtedly insist upon keeping around.
